The use of spanking as a form of discipline has sparked quite a debate, with The American Academy of Pediatrics stating that it is both ineffective and harmful. Nevertheless, some parents, including singer Kelly Clarkson, still choose to use this method.
In a radio interview back in 2019, Kelly, who is a mother to two children, River Rose, 8, and Remy, 6, shared her perspective on the topic. She mentioned that she “is not above spanking” when it comes to discipline. “I don’t mean hitting her hard,” she clarified. “I just mean a little spanking.”
Having grown up with this practice, she feels comfortable with it and sees no issue in using it as a form of discipline.
Kelly, who grew up in Texas, shared her perspective on discipline, saying, “My parents spanked me, and I turned out just fine. I feel good about it.”
